Sir,

Formation of a new forum say a Political Platefarm in Uttrakhand is
welcome initiative. But the success of such a Political Platefarm will
depend upon the following up and further polarisation of people in
the State. Instead of new Political Identities the existing National
Political Parties may initiate in the state of Uttrakhand high
lighting the peoples problems. In this regard Bahujan Samaj Party which
have been a good number of representatives elected to the State
Assembly may lead the peoples movement to focus on the problems facing
the State of Uttrakhand.

Big dams in Uttarakhand will spoil the natural regime of water and would considerably reduce the self cleaning ability of the rivers in the 10-20 km long tunnels in the absence of sunlight. This is one of the many reasons for not obstructing the flow of rivers in Uttarakhand. This is why these rivers are termed as sacred. Hence Dr GDAgrawals fast needs to be supported.

This is really good. If neighbour Himachal Pradesh can sell powers to other states, then there is no reason why Uttarakhand should be behind.

Specially considering that there is huge scarcity of electricity in Uttarakhand and India.

This is a great move. Let’s hope there is no delay in executing it.

It has reflected sentiments of the mases.I wonder why other websites and discussion groups fail to take up issues like that.
May Be , we are becoming similiar to Nepal.
Where aristrocracy( political and social sitting some where abroad /safe haven decides discussion, free views and local issues of the masses.

My family/clan is from a village Sainji, just 2kms ahead of Kempty falls. Its comes in my village’s Gharam Sabha. I have seen it its glory,when there was no motorable road to it from Mussoorie.It didn’t pipe 80% of the water to drink in the city.A wooden plank/rope bridge was there to crss it. I am very sad to hear about its polluted condition. I will contact my relatives in the village & ask them to do the needful. Specially as some of them are shopkeeper’s at kempty falls. Jaunpur Rawae
