Dehradun, 29 Dec: The Matu People’s Organisation has charged the State Government with sidelining environment and rehabilitation issues in the Maneri Bhali phase two project.

Vimal Bhai, Coordinator of Matu People’s Organisation, alleged, “The government is in unholy haste to complete the Maneri Bhali phase two power project. The environmental issues have been totally sidelined and landslides are taking place of a large scale in the partially submerged areas. This is forcing the villagers to agitate.” He demanded genuine environment and damage assessment. [more]
